Initial Audio releases SourceLab 2.0 featuring new Skin & Plugin Editor

Initial Audio has announced the release of SourceLab 2.0, a major update to their flagship hybrid virtual instrument for macOS and Windows.

SourceLab 2.0 combines wavetable synthesis, sampling, and loop slicing into a unified 6-layer engine. Version 2.0 introduces a drag-and-drop Skin Editor, comprehensive MIDI CC mapping, and expansive new library additions, positioning it as a complete platform for sound design.

New in SourceLab Version 2.0:

  • Skin & Plugin Editor:
    • Users can now create completely customized audio plugin UIs.
    • With 25+ professional skins included, users can drag, drop, and design their workspace with access to all engine parameters—no scripting required.
  • MIDI CC Learn & Mapper:
    • Right-click any parameter to enter ‘learn’ state and instantly map it to external hardware.
    • A dedicated MIDI Mapper page manages all connections.
  • AI Wavetables & SFZ Support:
    • Generate unique wavetables instantly using AI.
    • Additionally, users can now drag and drop .sfz Soundfontz files directly onto a Source or the Sample Mapper.
